1930s, London. Bill Snibson may be the newly found heir to a great nobleman's fortune, but he's been raised in lowlife Lambeth, where he fell in love with Sally Smith. While not terribly resistant to being gentrified, Bill does draw the line at abandoning his girl, despite the protests from his wee-bred relatives, the duchess and Sir John, that he must. But on the sly the latter comes up with a solution that neatly solves the problem: He sends Sally to--yes--Henry Higgins, who teaches her to become a lady, thus making her "worthy" of the new Bill.
