A theater tradition, Fiddler On The Roof, tells the tale of a poor milkman, Tevye, living in the small village of Anatevka, Russia. It’s an endearing story of a man who is striving to raise his 5 daughters and instill in them the values and norms of his Jewish culture in the midst of a changing social and political climate. Audiences everywhere will identify with the conflict and range of emotions that Tevye struggles with as he tries to grapple with the changes while supporting and raising his children. Based on the stories of Sholem Aleichem, the show’s book is touchingly written by Joseph Stein. The music by Jerry Bock and lyrics by Sheldon Harnick will have you in turn laughing and then weeping as Tevye and his family experience both the highs and lows of living their lives.
