Audition Info
    For your audition, please prepare 1 minute of a song from Joseph or another show that you would like to sing.  We will have an accompanist available.  If the song is not from Joseph, please bring sheet music, marked and ready to give to the pianist.  You may also sing using an instrumental accompaniment from your phone.  Prepare that in advance for your audition.
     Please fill out the audition form below before coming to the audition, listing any known dates when you will be unavailable from April through the show.  College students who live a distance away— please indicate when you will be home from finals, ready to rehearse and any Saturdays you may be home before the end of the semester.  
     For the children's chorus, you will be taught a portion of "Close Every Door" from Joseph at the auditions and then will be asked to sing it for the directors. Please arrive on time so that you don't miss the instruction. You do not need to prepare another song if you are auditioning for the children's chorus.

FAQs

How do I sign up?
There is no advance sign-up needed for our auditions. Just come to one of our listed audition dates ready to sing! We conduct auditions first come, first served, so we advise you to come early in the audition period.

When do rehearsals start?
Rehearsals start in April. 
Since there are adults in the production-- rehearsals never start before early evening  except on Saturdays. (Normally,  we do not rehearse on Sundays and Fridays until Tech Week.)

Do you have the rehearsal schedule yet?
The schedule is based on the information that you give us about your conflicts and building space availability. Our directors work hard to make rehearsals work for the entire cast. Rehearsal calendars will be handed out at the first rehearsal.  

Are there any cast fees?
No, but we do ask for help advertising. HCST Main Stage does not charge any fees. Donations are always accepted. You are expected to do your part to hang posters, advertise, and help sell tickets to people you know. You are also given the opportunity to purchase T-shirts and a cast photo.
