Aladdin is from a collection of ancient stories, The Arabian Nights, and told within the following plot: the King of India, jealous of his wife's wanton ways, executes her, and resolves to take his revenge on all womankind. Every night he marries a beautiful girl, only to behead her the next morning. Then he meets Scheherezade. Knowing that the king loves a good story, on their wedding night, she spins a yarn which she suspends at its climax. Devoured by curiosity to know the tale's end, the king stays the hand of her executioner. After a thousand and one nights he is cured of his mania and spares her life.
Aladdin is a street-urchin who lives in a large and busy town with his faithful monkey Abu. When Princess Jasmine gets tired of being forced to remain in the palace above the city, she sneaks out incognito to the market place and happens to meet Aladdin. Aladdin is thrown in jail by Jafar, the Sultan's Adviser, and used to find the magic lamp. The Genie of the Lamp makes Aladdin a prince, upon his wish, so that Aladdin could marry his love Princess Jasmine. Through deception, Aladdin causes Jasmine to fall in love with him. But Jafar is dead set against anyone ruling except himself. This adventure is also the fight against the evil corruption of the government.
